Just 8 Insignificant Ways Your Boot-straps Can Make You Superbly Happy

Every morning, you put on either your right shoe initially, or your

left shoe. This happens almost always.

By either passing the right-

hand lace around beneath the left-hand lace, or the left-hand lace around behind the right-hand lace,

as a rule, you tie your shoes this way. Which shoe you put on first and how you secure your shoes, tomorrow morning specify this. Now, by putting on the other shoe earlier and fastening your shoelaces in a different way, consciously decide that for the next 21 days you are going to flesh out a new

habit.

Now, let this simple act, each morning, operate as a reminder to change other

usual ways of acting, feeling and rationalizing, as you determine to slip into your shoes in a certain way, throughout that day.

Affirm to yourself “I am opening the day in a new and finer

way.” as you secure your shoes. Then, consciously make up your mind that throughout the day:

(1) I will reject completely and close my mind to all those

disheartening and negative “facts” which I can do naught to modify.

(2) Regardless of what happens, I will react as rationally and as intelligently as

possible.

(3) I intend to practice smiling at least three times through the duration of the

day.

(4) My own opinion will not be permitted to modify facts in a

discouraging or harmful way.

(5) Insofar as possible, I am going to behave as if success were inescapable, and I already am the

sort of personality I wish to be.

I will rehearse “acting like” and “being like” this new personality.

(6) I am going to be a little less critical and a little more tolerant of other people, their thoughtless acts, failings and mistakes. Whatever people’s actions be, the best possible interpretation is what I ll

award.

(7) A little more friendly toward other people is how I will try to act and appear.

(8) I will be as perky as possible.

Simple? Yes.

But each of the above confirmed ways of acting, feeling, thinking does have beneficial and

constructive influence on your self-image. For 21 days, act them out. “Own” them, and see if worry,

guilt, and unfriendliness have not been diminished and if confidence has not been

magnified.

Who was it who once said; the things in life that make the

biggest difference are the least important? No, beats me too. However, it is the case. Yes, there is a way to make an essential
